From USA Film Festival Screening

A funny, funky debut. This perceptive and witty comedy is a cross-cultural treat.

Alonso Duralde, USA Film Festival Director- Dallas, TX

From San Francisco Asian International Film Festival

A really wonderful comic touch!

Kayo Hatta, Director of "Picture Bride"- Sundance Film Festival, Best Film

From Huntington Cinema Arts Center Film Festival, Long Island

We have just finished watching Disoriented. We agree that we haven't enjoyed a movie so much in a long, long time. Your movie made me think of Moonstruck, a movie I've seen 20 times because I adore it. Both movies savor the authentic details of family life- specifically ethnic family life - and both movies do so in a charming and witty way.

All the actors are terrific - Danger, The mother, Speedy, each perfect. The mother was especially fine. And of course the hero is totally adorable. The movie also looks great, moment to moment, shot to shot. So my hat is off to you for this formidable accomplishment.

Michael di Capua, Publisher Harper Collins Books- East Hampton, NY

From New Filmmakers Series Festival, New York City

MAGIC! The charm and the poetry of it!

Arthur Acuna, Actor "Law and Order" - New York, NY

From Asian American International Film Festival Screening, New York City

It had a nice flavor to it and was a good story, and I've seen alot of bad films with seven digit budgets. All the actors were really great, you did a nice job with them. We really enjoyed it and the audience did as well. Everyone stayed all the way through the credits, which is the highest compliment an audience can give.

Mike Merges - NY

From Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival Screening

Disoriented dispenses with streetwise posturing and instead Aliwalas trains his eye on suburban Americana - a place we truely haven't seen in past Festival offerings - and comes away with a surprisingly assured effort that may set an imposing standard for those seeking to capture the "real" Asian American community on film.

Abraham Ferrer, Festival Director - Los Angeles, CA

From San Francisco Asian International Film Festival

Congratulations for inspiring so many Asian Americans and giving our community tremendous hope.

Esperanza Catubig - San Francisco, CA

From San Francisco Asian American Film Festival Screening

Congratulations on the great film: Disorierted! I was fortuate to see it when it first came to the Kabuki Theater in San Francisco. You should really be proud! Fantastic!

What touched me the most is that your film hits your audience. I'm sure you hear this all the time from many Filipino Americans, because your film really tells a story needing to be told about us - about communication within our families, about colonized standards of beauty, about the exoticization of the asian body, about Filipinos laboring, about wanting to be accepted by parents, about acceptance (period).

I regret not bringing other family members to see your film, they would have valued it tremendously. Can't wait to see the next project.

Alex de Guia- San Francisco, CA

From Chicago Asian American Film Festival Screening

A friend invited me to go to this film festival, and I thought, "Hey, why not?" Now, I'm very happy I went or I would never have seen your film. You give young people like myself hope that things can happen if you work hard toward your dreams.

Ella Bugarin - Chicago, IL

From Vancouver Film Festival Screening

Caught your movie "Disoriented" over the weekend with my wife, and I have only two words to say: WELL DONE!

Ray Rivera - Vancouver, BC

From Asian American International Film Festival Screening - New York City

It was thrilling to see your film on the big screen! I know as a filmmaker how difficult it is to get to that point. Your crew ought to be very proud of you.

Donna Tsufura, Filmmaker - New York, NY

From Asian American International Film Fest Screening - New York City

I believed it to be the first real representation of Filipino-American life. From the start of the movie until the last credits rolled, I was astonished and absolutely mesmerized. Francisco Aliwalas took beautiful scenery mixed in a bit of cultural twist and created a truly beautiful, humorous, and touching story.

Jeffrey Atencio - Queens, NY

From a personal letter to the Director

Play it again Francisco,

A style of which renders a feel of European, but definitely not. Written like a poet, but with no stanzas. Close to an "indy", but it was too understandable. The look of a Hollywood feature, but way too fresh. Casted like a rock, but didn't sink like one.

I could not believe the feeling it invoked in me. To sit and watch your film was a great experience alone, but to see a great film at the same time? Amazing.

Your success in the film can be summerized by simply saying, I lost track of the fact that it was Francisco Aliwalas that did this film. Think of what that means. I congratulate you on your big success. And wish you many more.

Nick Viscio, Filmmaker - New York
